OOTD & The Avengers

Yesterday I went to see The Avengers with Tenna and a bunch of other people. The movie wasn't until after six, so Tenna and I hung out bit at my place first. She gave me this lovely set of handmade earrings which are just about as fabulous as anything can really be. See for yourselves:

I love them and I can't wait to wear them :D

So The Avengers was awesome. It was such a good movie. I've been feeling like I want to watch it again all day long. It was so just funny and action packed, not mention all the eyecandy. All right, well, just in case you live under a rock and have no idea what movie I'm talking about, I'll leave the trailer below.

This is what I wore yesterday. Finally got a chance to break in my new JCs that arrived last week. Felt goooood, haha. Although, not so good when I decided to walk home from the cinema and halfway home my feet were dying. It's a 30-40min walk. But it was just such a nice evening, it's been getting warmer lately and it was twilight and there was a slight breeze, I couldn't resist. I'm still paying the prize ;)

Collective Haul: Topshop, Asos, Jeffrey Campbell

Spiked Litas - Jeffrey Campbell/Revovle Clothing
Striped Jeans - Motel Rocks/Asos
Bracelets, spiked slippers, tunic, scarf - Topshop

All right, so today I want to show you some of the things I've bought in the last month or so. I gave in and bought the spiked Litas. They're just perfect, I can't even. I'll be doing outfits asap, so for now the collage will have to do. And yeah, clearly, I have an addiction to Topshop, but I don't care ;)

But I also want to show you, what I picked up today from Topshop, because I just quickly popped by to see if anything new had gone on sale - you know, you gotta be quick if you want the good stuff, haha - and this dress had gone on sale.

By Unique
I have been eyeing this mofo for so long! I absolutely love it. The print is so unique (no pun intended), the silk is so soft and overall just downright awesome! I always thought it was too expensive (originally 1299DKK, then 999DKK, then finally 599DKK in the sale) and that it would not flatter my bodytype.
But when I was in there today, I thought "All right, let's just try it on for fun, just to get a good laugh". They didn't even have my size, but they had one size down. So I tried that on and I was all "Damnit, this fits and it looks good, crap! Now I have to buy it" and so I did. It is a bit long on me as I'm only about 163cm tall, but I don't mind. Here's what it looks like on a tall model:

Picture from fashionista.com

I tried it on with this:

Though, I'll probably pair it with some chunky sandals when it gets warmer.

April 2012 Wishlist

Maxi skirt/Asos - Jewelry/Regal Rose - Leggings, slippers, jumper/Topshop

A few comments:
  • Been wanting that jumper for so long, I think it's so amazing. It's a bit pricey and I'm not too sure about the fit as it's sized S/M and M/L, and that's why I haven't bought it already. If it goes on sale, though, I am so going to get it, hehe.
  • I just got the black version of the slippers in the mail and they are so fabulous! Really comfortable and stylish. Love them! I think they look awesome in white as well.

Haul/Review: LUSH

A lovely parcel just arrived
First look inside

All right, so I got a little tired of being out of the loop. Bloggers and vloggers alike are all talking about this LUSH business and I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. So I went ahead and placed an order on lush.co.uk, as I don't know of any stores stocking them here in Denmark.

I'm not the type of person to use a lot of beauty products. I have a select few products that I use daily and I rarely stray from them. It's not like they're the best products ever, it's more of "gets the job done without causing allergic reactions"-thing I have going on with them. But I decided to venture out and try something new, allured by the catchy descriptions and the anticipation of the delightful scents.

My order all neatly packed

Here is what I ordered (prices are on the website):
  • Sympathy for the Devil - Hand & Body Lotion
  • Happy Hippy - Shower Gel (100g)
  • Rock Star - Soap
  • Mask of Magnaminty - Face mask (125g)
I'll go through them one by one.

This lotion has bananas, cocoa butter and vanilla in it with just a touch of sandalwood. I really like the scent of this one and I think it is one of the best moistruizers I've tried. I would definitely repurchase this one!
All right, so this one is actually making me hungry. It smells so delicious! It has peppermint in it, so it makes me think of mint chocolate, yum! It feels so refreshing on the skin. It dries within the five to ten minutes. I love how my skin feels afterwards. I tried it one evening and it felt so nice, I had to put it on again the following day. I'll try to limit myself to twice a week, although, it's hard, I tell ya ;)

I'm really into pink grapefruit scents at the moment. This one is just so refreshing to use in the shower. Love it!

This sweet candy scented soap is quite lovely, actually. It is quite fragrant when it's just lying there in the soapdish, but it's not at all overpowering on your hands, which is a huge plus in my book. I really like this one too!

Also got the Lush Times which is, among other things, a brochure of all their products and their ingredients. Very handy!
Altogether, these products are a bit pricier than the ones I usually use, keeping in mind that the £8 postage as well, but they're definitely worth it. It's definitely not my last visit to the Lush website!

Museum of Zoology & a couple of outfits

A couple of weeks ago I had the past two weeks off from work, which has been great. I haven't had a vacation for a really long time, so it was really nice to gear down. I didn't travel anywhere or work on any major creative projects. It's basically just been a fairly low-key vacation. I will, however, take you through some of the highlights.

My friend Amy and I went to the Museum of Zoology which I haven't been to since I was a child and I've been wanting to go back now for the past couple of years, but haven't really gotten around to it before now. I just remember that I loved going there when I was a child, so I was really looking forward to going again.

Amy

This one freaks me out a bit, but I figured some might like it.

I thought this owl was a hoot ;)

I became a little too attached this polar bear. Mighty Boosh fans will understand why probably ;)

All right, so it was fun to go there again, but it was so much smaller than I remembered. Super small, actually. But I still liked being there again. I love museums with all the corridors and corners, they feel so much like a labyrinth.

Another thing I did in these past couple of weeks was to sew this dress:

I've had this fabric lying about for so long and had even half-started making something, but I finally sat down and actually made something wearable with it.
The colour isn't coming out right in the photo. It's a lot more blue in real life; A really gorgeous colour, and I had so been looking forward to wearing this colour, but I don't know... I made the dress a bit on the large size, well, not intentionally, obviously, but I was using a new pattern for the bodice, which apparently is a bit bigger than my old one.
Honestly, there's a reason I put the belt on in the picture. I used 4 meters of chiffon fabric for the skirt and it's just too much, so it's all sausage-y around the waist and then it's too big in the back and ugh, I was really disappointed with the outcome. Mostly, because in my mind I had this image of a nice, light and breezy Spring dress, but when I put this one on, I just feel like a big cupcake, like I'm on my way to a six year olds birthday party.

It probably has more to do with how I feel in Lolita in general these days, than the actual dress. It's just something with all those layers that's putting me off at the moment. Hmm.

Random outfit picture from my holiday.

That's all for now :)

Regal Rose Rings

I recently stumbled across Regal Rose's site and fell absolutely in love with most of their pieces. They have so much awesome stuff, I had a hard time settling on what to get. Although I was definitley sure that I would get the Mento Green Crystal Ring. I wanted several more pieces, but I didn't want to go too overboard, so I stuck with these two rings shown in the photo.

I placed the order on the 6th, it was despatched on the 10th and I received it on the 13th. They ship from the UK and I'm located in Denmark. I absolutely love both of these rings and will be wearing them often. I can't even get over how beautiful the Mento Green Crystal Ring is. And I've been wanting a bird skull item for a really long time, so I'm really happy I got this one: Merla Silver Raven Skull Ring.
Today's outfit

Dress: Topshop
Blouse: Red Herring
Tights: Pieces
Boots: Boohoo
Rings: Regal Rose
Bracelet: HRH Collection

Here are three of my other favourites from their site:
Definitely getting this with my next order!

Goodiebox - March

I don't know about you guys, but after following lots of UK bloggers and reading about their Glossyboxes, I got a little jealous. I mean, who doesn't want to receive a neatly wrapped box with lots of beauty products inside each month. So I was super excited when I learned that a similar service, called Goodiebox, is offered here in Denmark.  For just 119DKK a month, I couldn't resist, so I signed up immediately.

Goodiebox is a new service, this is only their second box and they did have some delays this time. It was supposed to be a March box, but wasn't sent until almost two weeks into April. They compensated by adding a few extra things to the box. Mine arrived this morning and I'll take you through it now.

The products

Pukka – Uplifting Toner / Full Size costs 179DKK
I can honestly say, that I will not be using this product. I really like the idea of toners, but with my allergies/asthma they're just not for me, I feel like I'm suffocating when I use products like this.
This one is scented with roses and orange flowers which many people will probably like, but I kind of dislike the scent of roses, so that just makes me want to put this toner even further away.

Kevin Murphy – Luxury Wash / Full Size costs 188DKK
This is probably the product that I'm most excited about in this goodiebox. I never splurge on shampoos, so it's cool to get to try something that I would never buy myself, which is also the reason I bought the goodiebox in the first place.

Now that I've tried it, I'm seriously considering getting a full size. The smell is so amazing and it's left my hair moisturized and so smooth, I really love it! If only it weren't so ridiculously expensive :/

Veet – Suprem’essence Wax Strips / Full Size costs 79,95DKK
Again a product I wouldn't buy myself. I've never tried waxing, so this could probably be an interesting test.

Oh My Gosh  nail varnish – Light Nutmeg / Full Size costs 39,95DKK
I was hoping for a nail varnish and this nude colour with a slight shimmer will be perfect for when I don't want to go too bold with my nails.

Blax – Hair elastic / Full Size (8 stk) costs 69DKK
Maybe I live under a rock, but I had never heard of these, but if I had, I'm sure I wouldn't be paying that price for hair elastics. So it's cool to try them. Apparently, they're the shit, haha. They do seem surprisingly good.

Aco – Sense & Care Hand lotion  / Full Size costs 48DKK
I think many will love this hand lotion. It leaves your hands feeling very soft and smooth with a nice scent. I don't really use hand lotion, only on a occasion, but I wouldn't mind starting to use one more often. But my problem with this one in particular is that it's scented. Again with my allergies and whatnot, I find scented products in general to be really bothersome, but I might use this one every once in a while.

Pukka – Nourishing Face Oil / Full Size costs 329DKK
I don't know about this sample. I have combination skin, so I'm always a bit wary of applying oily products. But maybe I'll give it a go one day to see how it is.

Pukka – Tea / Full Size costs 38DKK
Three tea samples; One with organic nettle, fennel and peppermint, and two with organic rose, sweet vanilla and chamomile. I'm a bit picky when it comes to tea, but I don't mind tasting something new, so I think these are a nice addition to the box.

Chocolate eggs / Three eggs cost 40DKK
They were goddamn delicious. That's all there is to say about these.

Overall
I think this was an okay goodiebox for me, I'm not over the moon about it, but I'm not down in the dirt either. It would have been nice to have received it on time, but what's done is done and I appreciate the extra products they put into the box to compensate.

I mean, it is a bit hit or miss with these kinds of things. They're obviously not going to please everyone every time. For me it was a bit miss, not be cause they didn't offer a wide selection, it's purely because (most of) the products don't really appeal to me. But that's the good thing about the goodiebox, I guess, you get to try products for a cheap price to see if it's for you, so you don't waste a lot of money of full size products you won't use.

There were a few highlights and I'm definitley staying on board for the next box. So if you live in Denmark and you want to sign up for the Goodiebox go to their site here. That's all, I think. I'm excited to see what they come up with for the next box.

Haul: Wet''n'Wild

Photo from nelly.com
A while back I got this palette from nelly.com by wet'n'wild and I absolutlely love it. I've been using it almost everyday for two months or so. Naturally, I was super excited when I saw that Bilka had started stocking this brand. Their products are super cheap and the quality is surprisingly good. I picked up this lot:

Lipstick - Rosebud
Nail polish - Sparked
Blush - Heather Silk
Eyeshadow palette - Comfort Zone

Sparked
There were several beautiful glitter nailpolishes in the shop and I'm kind of hooked on glitter these days, so it was hard to restrain myself, but I settled on this pink glitter polish. Love the colour and I think it works well on its own, but can also be used for layering on top of a base coat.

Photo from nelly.com

I love palettes and I especially love these palettes from wet'n'wild. The colours are so well put together. They all match and yet you can still achieve many different looks. My favourites from this palette are the first three colours in the first column. The reason I got the other pink/purple palette first was that I was afraid these brown tones would be too boring, but the lustre finish looks really nice without being over the top.

Photo from nelly.com
Heather silk
This blush is very pigmented, so use with a light hand i.e. not the accompanying applicator. I love the colour and it's become my daily blush.

Photo from nelly.com
I really like the feel of this lipstick on my lips. It doesn't feel cakey or too sticky. It has a really nice matte finish, which is the reason I got it. I thought it would be a little more pink when I picked it up, just from what it looked like under the lights in the store, but it's more of a warm muted red, so yeah, it's probably not for everyone - colourwise. I can only wear it with warm toned makeup. But it lasts for a long time and it has really good coverage, so it's definitely worth checking out.

All in all, it's definitely not the last time I've browsed the wet'n'wild stand.

Oh, I'm just wearing the universe on my legs..

Okay, I'll be honest with you. I want these shoes and I want them badly. I went downtown today to pick up some fabric and I "just happened to pass by" one of the shops that stock Jeffrey Campbell shoes. They had them, of course they did, but not in my size. I tried them on in a size 40 instead and they almost fit. They actually felt like they were the right size, but the voice in my head adviced me not to get them, because they would probably be a bit snug when wearing them for a long time. But man, were they fabulous!

So I walked on and further down the street, I saw another shop stocking them. I went in and asked for my size. They didn't have it. But the girl in there was all "Are you sure you need a bigger size? They do run quite large".
She totally got in my head! I started questioning my own reasoning! So I popped by my local mall, because there is also a shop there that stocks the shoes. Apparently, they're everywhere around here. But alas, not in my size, though, this time I tried them on again and I'm happy I did, because this pair was so snug and uncomfortable, it took away all of my doubts.

So now I'm left staring, longingly, at my browser showing the preorder on revolveclothing.com. I want them. I want to wear them with leggings, with skirts, with all my lolita clothes and so on. They are also a bit cheaper online than in the shops around here. Of course, I run the risk of having to pay a customs fee, but I don't know, maybe they're worth it. Hmm...

I guess for now I'll hold my horses. I have this pair on the way in the mail at the moment. I got these on boohoo.com for £35, because I felt certain I wouldn't want the real deal at that price. They'll have to do for now. Then maybe later on, I'll get the spiked ones.

Moving on now, a nice little black parcel came yesterday.

Inside were my beautiful purple galaxy leggings and a note.

Yes, these were on my wishlist for March, and yes, they are a bit pricey, but when I found myself almost buying a pair of white jeans with hologram paint for the same price, I decided to get these instead and I'm so happy I did. I wore them today and I never want to wear anything else again, haha. They are so beautiful and comfortable. If you've been contemplating getting a pair of leggings from Black Milk, I'd say go ahead and order them now, you won't regret it.
