The Sunday before last I had a photoshoot with the lovely Ariellah. The weather was a bit against us. It was just so hot and the sun was blazing, but we made do and these photos are the results.

Behind the scenes: The Last Unicorn

Last weekend I had a shoot with Stine and Tenna. A few days earlier, Tenna had approached Stine and I with the idea of doing a unicorn/lolita shoot. I have been itching to get back into photography and do a shoot in the forest again, so I got on board quickly.

You may remember Stine from some of my previous shoots, eg. Death & the Maiden or Red Riding Hood, she's always been portraying a masculine role, but not this time. Girly makeup, long wig and a beautiful dress transformed her into a most beautiful unicorn :D
It was so amazing to see the transformation.

Tenna had fashioned a horn from barely nothing and it was perfect, so there you go. Creative genius strikes again.

Anyway, as always, the day started off at my place:

Tenna is doing Stine's makeup.

The wig comes on and takes the transformation to a whole new level.

The final additions to the overall look are added.

The first place we shot in was really, really mushy, especially the further away from the original path we got. In fact, we suddenly found ourselves more than ankle-deep in mud. Not the best scenario, but the trees were lovely and all the passers-by seem to think it was all a hoot. 

On safe ground again, my shoes, however, were not in the best state.

Neither were Tenna's. In fact, she threw hers out in the bin right away and walked on (almost) bare feet the rest of the day.

Tenna is being a wonderful assistant, fixing every detail on Stine's outfit, making my job so much easier. Hehe.

Just finished shooting and we're heading back to our stuff.

It was just such a good day! The second place we shot was absolutely amazing and the weather was so lovely. The sun really came out at the end of the shoot and it was just low enough in the sky to create the light I wanted. It was just one of those days you want to recreate right away :D

Finally, I've had time and, more importantly, inspiration to take some photos again. I've been on a break in regards to my photography, but no more, sir, I say. For now you'll have to look at my face, but fear not for I have set up a few shoots with models as well, but yeah, I need to hone my skills. Or something. Okay.

Oh, and just a quick note, for those who haven't already noticed: I used to post my photos on my second blog, but I recently merged it with this one and from now everything will be posted here.

And yes, that's a new watermark and it's not pretty, but needed, apparently. Some people can't tell mine from theirs. Ugh.

Ombre Hair & Dark Shadows

I had a dream last night in which I dyed my hair ombre. I watched as the bleach turned my hair almost white, but then when I rinsed it, it was suddenly this rusty colour. So I bleached again. I had also bought some blue dye when I'd picked up the bleach.
In the bottle with the blue dye there were these tiny ice cubes that you were supposed to mix with water it would turn blue (yeah, that makes so much sense: Mix frozen water with liquid water and voilá, you have blue hair dye. Way to go, brain).
But somehow the ice cubes got in my mouth, but then none of it mattered, because there was some chase going on.
Can you tell I've been thinking about dying my hair this way? I just think I'll mess it up if I do it myself.

On another note, I went to see Dark Shadows last night after work with Tenna and Mia. Honestly, I was a bit disappointed. It just fell flat and seemed kind of pointless. Most of the characters were very one dimensional and it wasn't just me who didn't believe the love story between Josette/Vicky and Barnabas. I found Eva Green's character to be the most interesting, but in a movie in which Johnny plays a vampire, I would want him to be the star of the show. I felt they had taken it much too far in the way of comedy, I'd rather have seen them take an approach more along the lines of a thriller.



It was visually pleasing, when are Tim Burton's movie not? But yeah, with the characters being very caricaturized, it just lost a lot of its charm for me.
But don't let me put you off this movie, you may like it, of course.

Sephora, Outfit & Books

Today I popped by the new Sephora downtown. It's the first in Denmark and it just opened yesterday. The grand opening is on the 15th. It was really cool, just an abundance of makeup, haha. I didn't actually buy anything, because it was so busy in there, I didn't really want to stay for too long. But I did see something that I really want now. The Naked 2 palette by Urban Decay.

This palette is so hyped it's almost ridiculous. But after seeing it in real life, I really want it. The colours look so amazing and it has several colours that I've been trying to find, without luck, lately. This one is definitely on my current wishlist, but I don't know if I want to spend 370DKK just now on makeup. Maybe next month or maybe I'll put it on my birthday wishlist, even though it's not until August. It is lovely, though.

I didn't get a good full body shot, but I just wore my gold leggings from Topshop with a black bodycon skirt. In case you were wondering.

I think I'm getting into another phase of reading books again. I love books, but I don't always read as much as I'd like. It comes in waves in a way. I won't read anything for months and then suddenly, I'll chaw down a big pile of books in no time.

I read Smertensbarn by Mette Finderup last night. This book doesn't actually come out before tomorrow, but I snagged the reading copy at work and gulfed it down last night. I don't usually read Danish books, but this one caught my eye and was really a page turner. It was really good, actually, I'm eagerly waiting for a sequel now.

I think I'm going to start Spellbound (Hex Hall 3) by Rachel Hawkins tonight, I really liked the first two books, so it'll be interesting to see what happens next.

May 2012 Wishlist

So those are the items I'll be lusting after this month. I'm trying to cut back a bit on the shopping, especially the Topshop shopping, so it's going to be a long month, haha. It's so annoying, though, because I wanted that necklace a long time ago, but it sold out and now it's back. Those bastards. Also, those jeans are insane. I'm trying so hard not to buy them.
